Grace Extends in Bydgoszcz
Grace Baptist Partnership supports a number of gospel initiatives in various countries across Europe. Here are a few words about how grace is extending in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
‘Do we really need a church plant here?’
Overlooking unreached sinners in British cities, some ask if another church is really necessary. Surely there are evangelical churches here.
‘Aren’t you franchising your brand rather than genuinely extending Christ’s kingdom?’
Such questions should be considered.
But not in Poland!
‘Can cities of 360,000 be without a gospel church when Poland claims to be a Christian country?’ This is what motivated Grace Baptist Church Edinburgh to send Mariusz Bartkowski and his family to Bydgoszcz. In its heretical, liberal or corrupt vacuum, the Bartkowski family have been busy reaching thousands with Bibles, tracts and invitations.
Dozens have embarked on studies in John’s Gospel with Mariusz. Discipleship begins often but continues seldom. Whether bound to Catholic tradition or disenfranchised because of it, it is difficult to encourage the lost to attend church. Yet the work is starting to flourish with a membership course running and two adults requesting baptism.
‘How often would you come to church if it was 2 hours away?’
This question is motivating Mariusz to consider starting Sunday services in Charzykowy in the North. A small group of believers there are being supported through Skype ministry with Mariusz.
‘How can further men and resources be raised up for Poland?’
Please pray that Mariusz may ask the important questions.
Please pray that the God of grace would answer them – for His glory, His people’s good and the lost’s eternal welfare.
“For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:15
