Grace Extends in Leagrave

Grace Extends in Leagrave

In recent years the church-planting work of Grace Baptist Partnership has put a number of places on the map as far as Grace Baptists are concerned. Here is an account of grace extending in one such place – Leagrave.

Leagrave? Right, Leagrave. You mean, Lea? No, Leagrave. Gravesend? No, Leagrave. We’ve never had a church there. Right. We do now.

It wasn’t that long since – with the possible exception of commuters from Bedford to London on the St Pancras line – most Grace Baptists in England had never heard of Leagrave.

With requests for prayer for building a church there and requests for practical assistance in buying a building for the church there, that has changed. Loads of Grace Baptists know where it is. Praise the Lord.

The church is being built. A faithful pastor – Hezron Muwowo – has been called. A helpful evangelist – Steve Burton – has assisted. A church has been gathered. They plan to constitute as an autonomous church on Sunday, 31st March 2019.

The building is being purchased. With the generous support of God’s people through both cash gifts and zero-interest loans, the building purchase is going ahead and should be completed soon.

Please continue to pray for the work at Leagrave. When you’re in the area, drop in. They will be glad to see you. They’ve likely been praying for you too.

“For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:15
