Grace Extends in Southall

The work in Southall captured the imagination of friends far and wide some time ago. Here is an account of how grace is extending in this area of massive spiritual need – and opportunity.

With converts from various major world religions – including nominal Christianity – among the original core group and indigenous leaders from the beginning, the Southall story has been captivating for many.

People have come to faith, been baptised, grown in their theological understanding, become members of the church, and served both in Southall and beyond. A building was purchased and refurbished. Even a church replanting project was attempted.

But disappointments came. The church replanting project didn’t develop. Some doctrinal issues arose in the fellowship. The pastor and his wife experienced the trauma of a disrupted adoption. Another leader and his family left the church.

What do you do? By God’s grace, you continue. So, in a remarkable demonstration of Spirit-empowered resilience, the fellowship at Southall has done just that. Aided by the fellowship, counsel and practical assistance of friends within Grace Baptist Partnership, the fellowship has not only found its feet, it is moving forward again for God’s glory.

Please continue to pray for the work in Southall. Ask the Lord that their tests will give them an even greater testimony of God’s faithfulness, love, and power.
