Month of Prayer and Giving Day 31- Get Up and Go

“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it the message that I tell you.”
Jonah 3:2 ESV

Ali McLachlan once recalled the statement about throwing a dart at a map of England – wherever the dart landed, a church should be planted. He went on to say that it was different in Scotland – you could replace the dart with a bucket of paint, and wherever the paint ran across Scotland, a church would need to be planted there.

Who could go? Where would they go? Who, if anyone, would go with them? What resources could they use? Would the task be worth it?

Over the past few years, a work has begun in Scotland to go to the cities, towns and villages to preach the message the Lord has given – salvation through Jesus Christ.

John-William Noble is married to Binglin and they have a one-year old son, Amos. They desire to serve in a ministry which clearly reflects Gospel truth. Towards that end, he is serving as a trainee at Grace Edinburgh. He was involved in the recent intensive week of evangelism at Govan in South Glasgow, and although exhausted was excited to have many opportunities to preach the Gospel.

John-William and his family are hoping to begin a new work in Aberdeen, where, as yet, there is no established Grace Baptist witness. Over half of its population profess no religion, and those who do appear to be very nominal. The wider county is also in great need of the Gospel.

Pray for John-William and his family as they seek to go to Aberdeen. Pray that the Lord will provide all of their needs. Pray that he will not shrink back from preaching the message the Lord has given Him, and that a vibrant witness will be established in Aberdeen and the surrounding area.

“Therefore we ought to support people like these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth.”
3 John 8 ESV
