Month of Prayer and Giving Day 7- Rejoicing and Requesting

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:4-7

Kevin Felix-Hollington has quite a few reasons to rejoice. He was able to baptise his oldest son and see him brought into church membership at Halling Baptist Church last year. His prayer for a co-labourer was answered when Artur Piotrowski was placed with the church to assist him and to spearhead the replanting effort at Ryarsh. The process of purchasing the former Halling fire station as a new place of worship appears to finally be nearing a successful conclusion.

However, there a quite few requests to make as well. Kevin – along with his wife and four children – would value prayer for Kevin’s mother-in-law in Mexico as she continues to struggle with ill health. The members who invited Kevin to lead the effort to revitalise the village church several years ago now are getting older and frailer. Kevin is thrilled to have Artur working alongside him but how long will this arrangement continue? Purchasing the fire station, a significant step in and of itself, will now lead to additional pressures as the church will need to do quite a lot of work to make the building fit for purpose.

So, even as Kevin continues to rejoice, he would request prayer from God’s people for his continuing work in Halling.
Will you join him in prayer that people who have heard the gospel through various means in recent days at Halling would profess their faith publicly through baptism? Will you join him in prayer for additional leaders to be recognised among the church members? Will you join him in prayer for the provision of time and finance regarding the work associated with the
move to the fire station?

Will you pray with Kevin and the family that God will in mercy heal his mother-in-law?
“Therefore we ought to support people like these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth.”
