Month of Prayer and Giving Day 18- Fulfilling His Ministry

“As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil your ministry.”
2 Timothy 4:5

Daniel Shwe is sober-minded. Too sober-minded for some. He has endured suffering. Not of the imagined first-world-problem variety – real suffering. And, anyone who knows him will attest to the fact that he does the work of an evangelist. So much so that he puts many – like me! – to shame. He is fulfilling his ministry.

But what you may not know is this. Daniel is not only fulfilling his ministry; his ministry is fulfilling him.
It’s not always easy. Sometimes critics discourage. Sometimes converts backslide. Sometimes cultural differences confuse. Sometimes …

But through it all, Daniel manifests a genuine and infectious joy in the Lord. He loves the Lord Jesus Christ, the local church and the lost like few others I’ve had the privilege of knowing.

Please pray for Daniel and his wife Lily as they continue to serve together in North Watford. Ask the Lord to help him as he prepares and preaches each week. Ask the Lord to bless his ongoing evangelistic efforts in his local area. Ask the Lord to give him wisdom to deal with some knotty pastoral issues.

Ask the Lord, also, to bless his ongoing support of other GBP-partnering churches in their local evangelism. He is presently helping one day a week at Angel as well as one day a week at Leagrave.

The church at North Watford is presently considering some options which could help Daniel and Lily address their long-term housing needs. Please pray for direction – and provision.

Please pray, above all, that he will continue to fulfil his ministry – with joy.
